In Bangladesh, there are a lot of mosque in every city. In north Bengal, you will find many of them, but some mosques have an Archaeological importance. We are here talking about a unique, ancient mosque of Thakurgaon district. This mosque is 120 years old. You will find this Bangladesh mosque in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila under Bhulli union.
According to the date of carving on this Bangladeshi mosque, it was made in Bengal 1317. Meher Baksh was one of the founders of the mosque. He also died in 1317 Bangla. Families said Meher Baksh came to the architect from outside to build the mosque. But the work of the mosque stopped when the architect died before the completion of the work.
After several years of suspension, Meher Baksh resumed the work of the mosque with local manufacturers. But before finishing the mosque, he also died. A few years after the death of Meher Baksh, the initiative to construct the mosque was retaken. But again it wasn't completed. So people started believing that it will not be possible to complete the mosque.
Therefore, since the abandoned one hundred years, the mosque has become a shelter for the people and sheltering of the jungle. After a long time, some parts of the wall were opened for protection. There is a wall of the same design inside 11 inches of the current wall. According to various information, the possible age of the mosque has been fixed at 120 years. It is noteworthy that there is no scientific examination of carbon-14 or Thermo Manie sen type of age determined to be expensive.
The mosque has an area of 62 feet 6 inches to the east-west and 69 feet 2 in the north-south. This rectangular complex can be divided into three parts - 'entrance door with stairs', 'Khola square' and 'main building or Namaz Ghar (mosque)'.The two-domed entrance is a self-contained architecture. The original building is 25 ft 11 inches wide in the east-west. The entrance, the open square, and the original building are located on the same platform. It is about 5 feet from 3 feet to 4.5 feet deep on the base.

Some students of Archaeology department of Jahangirnagar University worked under Institute of Archaeology for conservation and preservation of the mosque. In April 2017 I have visited the place and met the people who contributed to rebuild this. Now local people are regularly going to the mosque for prayer.
Not only for the archaeological sites, Thakurgaon city is famous for the world's largest mango tree as well.
Wow 120 years but this mosque looks so great :)
