The name of Raja Mahima Ranjan Roy of Kakina is mixed with many establishments in Rangpur. Although he did not have much of his academic education, he was an educated person. He gave land for many educational institutions, libraries, to enlighten the disadvantaged Bangalee in the light of education, from deep love to education. Till now Rangpur Town Hall, Kailasharanjan School, Rangpur Public Library reminded the glory of Mahima's glory. In 1885, the Rangpur Drama Society (Rangpur Dramatic Association) took initiative to create a stage platform for the development of dramatic and cultural activities of this region.
Kakina King Mahima Ranjan Roy came forward in this case. In 1891, he donated 10 bighas 3 katha land of Rangpur for the encouragement of the drama society to a colossal colony for the English government. According to the document that was made in 1896 by the Secretary of State Indian Council and Rangpur drama society, the Rangpur drama society was entitled to it. After getting the ownership of the land, drama practice began in a Tin House. Initially, its name was "Rangpur Natya Samaj Griho (Rangpur drama society house)". Madhusudan Dutt's "Sharmistha" was staged in this stage as the first drama.
Rangpur Public Library, one of the oldest libraries in undivided India, is at the Town Hall Campus. Which was established in 1854. The Rangpur Literature Council, established on the basis of Rangpur Public Library, is part of the Library Building which is the first branch of Bangiya Sahitya Parishad outside Kolkata. Besides, the architect Tajuddin Central Shaheed Minar is an excellent example of modern architectural style designed by architect Taj Uddin Chowdhury. In the end of the 70s, the foundation stone of this Shaheed Minar was established in the war of liberation in the war of liberation of the country's first martyr Shanku Samjdar's mother Dipali Samjadar.
