Nilgiri Bandarban is one of the most fabulous places in our country. The Nilgiri Tourist Center is situated on the hilltop of Bandarban-Thanchi road, about 52 kilometers south-east of Bandarban district headquarters. This tourist center is located at the height of about 2,000 feet from sea level. It is also known as Darjeeling of Bangladesh as it can quickly reach the clouds from this place.

Why Should you visit Nilgiri Bandarban?


From Nilgiri Bandarban everywhere is green and green. The beautiful greenery and loneliness of the surroundings are one of the attractions of Nilgiri.

During the construction of the Chimbuk-Thanchi road by the 17 Engineer Construction Battalion of Bangladesh Army, it was declared as the security patrol at Kapru Para area on the Bandarban Thanchi road of Mro people. Later, in the planning of high officials of the Bangladesh Army, it got the fullness of a tourism center.

There are many delightful cottages here, Meghdut, Akashlina, Nilanjona and Marma House. Currently, there is a cafeteria.  Local and foreign tourists are coming to Nilgiri Bandarban every day.

During the day, there are visible sightings of the Bay of Bengal and shipping from this place, which attracts tourists very easily. Besides, the scenic view of zigzag Sangu River which flutters through the hills is simply excellent. To stay and remain at this Nilgiri resort with modern facilities, contact the Bandarban Brigade Headquarters of the army in advance. Nimagiri Resort is a beautiful place to keep these scenes in the memory of the tourists.

Location of Nilgiri

Coinciding Nilgiri Tourism is a charming attraction to tourists. Tourism Center is 47 kilometers away from the district headquarters on the zigzag road. It is 26 kilometers to reach Nilgiri by way of Chimbuk Hill, Thanchi Upazila road, which is known as the Queen of the hill of Bengal. The surrounding scenes are stunning on the way.

The Nilgiri Tourism Spot, which is managed by the army of Bandarban 69 army infantry region. There are also well lodging and food arrangements. Cottages made at the Nilgiri Tourist Spots are also kind of interesting to see. Just around mountains and hills. Where the two eyes go only green and green. It is a different feeling.

If you want to see the clouds, then visit Nilgiri now to see the natural beauty of Bandarban. From the Alikadam of Bandarban to Thanchi road, Nilgiri is reached on the hill.

Three cottages with facilities for the tourists named as Akashnila, Meghdut and Nilatana have been developed at Nilgiri Tourist Center on the remote hills. Cabins are rented for the night to run between 1 thousand and two and a half thousand Taka. There is also a sophisticated restaurant. You will find delicious foods at a reasonable price.

Nilagiri is a unique gift of nature. From the peak of Nilgiri, the country's second highest mountain, Keokarodong, natural wonders Boga Lake, Cox's Bazar sea beach, lighted lamps of Chittagong Sea Port and the sight of the hills are amazing.

There are several Mro tribal villages near Nilgiri. Kapru Para/village is near the Nilgiri, and you can easily find out about the Mro indigenous. There is a camp of Bangladesh Army in Nilgiris. As a result, there is no shortage of security. Army personnel will extend their cooperation to any of your needs.

The beauty of Nilgiri night is more wonderful. Seeing all the wild animals of the surrounding deer, the fox and the light-skinned play of the hills, your life seems to be mysterious. For those who love adventure, the night space may be the best place for the evening. On the way to Nilgiri, you can see the beautiful beauty of Bandarban.

Here the indigenous Bom (tribal) girl's will welcome you. From here you can buy indigenous hand-made products. After that, you will see Shopnochura. From Shopnochura, Bandarban's magnificent beauty can be enjoyed.

You will reach Chimbuk after Shopnochura. Chim Buk's reputation is all over the country. There is a massive tower of T & T, and the development board has created the rest house with all the facilities. There is also a rest house in the Road and Highways Department.


Upon reaching Chimbu, you can take a cup of tea from the tribal people and move towards Nilgiri. There is a canteen run by the army. Here you can have your lunch or light meal.

The most interesting thing about Nilgiri is that the Sangu River flowing over Bandarban is seen from here. From here it seems that Sangu River is very close to you. The beautiful scene of the Sangu River is enjoyed from here. Seeing the small boats that have torn off in Sangu River, from a distance, a dream can be seen.

Nilgiri Bandarban Resorts: There are six cottages named as Akashlina, Meghdut, Nilanjona, Hetkora Raicha and Marmaraicha at the Nilgiri Resort. To stay in them, tourists will have to count 4 to 10 thousand Taka. And for eating more than ten people at Nilgiri Restaurant, there are rules for charging extra one to one and a half thousand with the bill.

Booking Cottage's room at night and booking at the restaurant at Nilgiri has to be booked almost one and a half months before eating at the restaurant. In the case of booking, an officer of the army officer level must be referenced. 

There is no booking system without references, at Nilgiri Resort. However, there is no mention to tourists visiting, to tour the Nilgiri tourism spot, the visitors are allowed to pay 50 Taka per person and an extra fee of three hundred Taka for cars.

How to go to Nilgiri Bandarban?

Every day you can reach Bandarban Sadar by bus from different transport buses to Dhaka. Can go to Nilgiri by riding Chand's (Chander Gari) car from Bandarban Sadar. Or you can go to Purabi-Purbani from Chittagong by Non AC bus and then from Kadamtoli you can go to Bandarban by BRTC AC bus. 

Bandarban-Kernihat bus service has also been started from Keranihat of Chittagong-Coxs Bazar road. You can choose yours to go to Bandarban.

Various types of hired vehicles are available to visit tourist spots in Bandarban with Nilgiri. However, for a couple of zip, Land Cruiser, Pipodoras, the reservation of the cars is a lot more. But there are alternatives. The cost is much less when traveling around the Nilgiri with family and friends.

CNG and Mahindra are available to go to Nilgiri. There is also the opportunity to go to Nilgiri in Bandarban-Thanchi Upazila road. The time spent is wasted, but the cost will be reduced.

Where to Stay in Nilgiri Bandarban?

Bandarban has numerous resorts, hotels, motels, and rest houses. Where you can spend the night at six to three thousand Taka. There are also lodging facilities at Nilgiri Resort as mentioned earlier.

The others are – Meghla Parjatan Complex. In contrast, Holiday Inn Resort on the small hilltop. There are many small cottages available here. Hotel Four-star located in Bandarban town There are both AC and non-AC rooms. Each room of the hotel has television. Hotel Three Star located in Bandarban Municipality.

In Nilgiri, there are suitable arrangements to stay at night with family members. However, the room is not rented, flat rent. There is a chance for up to 8 to 15 people in each flat. You can arrange food by your management.
