Tajhat palace Rangpur is an excellent example of history. Tajhat zamindar is fundamentally related to Gopal Lal (GLR), son of Govinda Lal, who is locally known as Tajhat zamindar. Manna Lal Roy was the real founder of this dynasty. He came from far distant Panchbah to Rangibazar for the gold business in Mahiganj.

Since 2005, this part has been used as a museum in Rangpur. As an Archaeology student, I am a regular visitor to Tajhat palace. On 15 May 2018, I went to Tajhat palace, Rangpur with my family once again.
It is known from the history of ancient Rangpur that Manna Lal Roy arrived in Mahiganj of Rangpur for diamond, jewelry and gold trading. At first, he did the business of various types of precious diamonds. He used to sit here for the sale of Taj, which later gained great popularity and this landlord was named after Tajhat zamindar house.
The length of this palace is 79.2 meters in length. The 15.24-meter wide central stairway made of white marble stones brought from Rome went straight to the steeple. The dome placed on the trapping drum supported by the Semi-Corinthian Stamp is situated in the center of the roof along the middle of the palace.
There are three approaches to reach the second floor, in between, the common approach is relatively broad. All the steps on all the way of refuge are covered with beautiful white and ash colorful stones. Massive iron beams and metal sticks were used to build the roof on the first floor, wrapped in a similar stone to the entire floor of the porch.
In the main floor or ground floor area, 4 rooms are seen, and total 11 pairs of hinged doors are considered in this Palace, in addition to this, there are many large rooms with 7 entrances and large halves with a double door with a double door in the west.
There are entry and passage in the middle of this section. Middle of the north part of the main building there are 22 stepped stairs made of beautiful wood for fluctuating in the second floor and in the Palace of the South, there is a stacked hanging staircase designed to iron for the second floor. The stairs of the stairs are seen as little flower made of beautiful metal.
There is an extensive gallery of stairs leading up to the second floor of the main palace of the front. The staircase is divided into three layers. There is 1 step in the first stage, and at the second level, the slightest position is reached and then crosses 14 steps to a beautiful, clean rectangular platform, which is connected to the roof of the second floor, which can be considered as the 3rd level.
Tajhat Palace Rangpur is not only a historical site, it is one of the best tourist spots in this area. Everyday a lot of local and international people visits the palace.
